Sick
I will tell you why it is when I get sick I get TOTALLY unequivocally SICK.... because from the moment my eyes open (usually too early) I hear "mommy I am hungry, mommy can I haver drink of water, mommy I have to go potty turn the light on I scarewed (the w was on purpose to show how the 3 yr. old says it). Then I come down the stairs and it really starts, mommy I want goldfish mommy I don't want to go to school, mommy lets go to the beach, mommy lets play Chutes and Ladders, mommy make a puzzle mommy I need more milk, mommy I need more water... Even when I try and make coffee and state that it is BEST to let a GRUMPY SICK mommy make her coffee first they don't stop lol. this all happened in 2 minutes I would like to add.

Nordstroms
ok, so, why is it when I go into Nordstrom's to SHOP (I am the one with the money, I am shopping during the day which suggests I am wealthier than you) at the makeup, skin care or perfume desks, WHY are those overly made whores so rude? Hey Nordstom's girls heres to you "YOU are working, I AM SHOPPING, I am not working therefore I am immediately cooler than YOU, DONT forget you work at a friggin department store and NOT even the best at that if you are so hot why don't you go work for Neiman Marcus? Get it?? YOU work as a sales girl! It is very likely that you spend your entire paycheck on products created to divert you from the important things in life."
Thank you for that.
Thank you for that.

The Slow One
Ok I didn't want to post this but its necessary...my husband is one of those drivers who goes super slow in the left hand turn lane so that when its his turn to go and turn left on the green arrow he lets in tons of asshole drivers who either forgot to get over or who again think their time is more important than ours. While some may find this easy going attitude liberating and lovely I find it completely frustrating because not only has he encouraged more people to pass the long line of patient waiters to cut in he has caused many enduring people who have waited their turn TO MISS THE LIGHT! I say something to the effect of - is this really the best decision taking into consideration the people behind you? His response was something like "well the people who cut in are happy". Did we make it home safely and in plenty of time. OF COURSE WE DID. Harumph

To Go or Not To Go
Once you have more than one child you are faced with the dilemma to leave the house or not to leave the house. You see its many a mouths to feed, dishes to pick up, feet that need to be shoed, teeth brushed and potty visited, make sure the clothes are clean and then if its raining don't get me started... then there is the logistical drama of who will sit where in the car assuming they are of speaking age (much harder)... seat belts fastened then lets say you get to your destination without too much conflict regarding music choice and who is singing too loudly.
NOW they inform you they have to pee and they are hungry. Did you remember to pack adequate snacks better yet did you pack anything they will eat? A trip to the bathroom, refastening buttons and making sure hands are washed and dried you venture out on your journey handing out snacks and juice boxes because if you attempt to sit down they will either get dirty or run away... can you see why one would NO LONGER WANT TO WALK AROUND the mall or the museum? No, the parent is exhausted and starving because in all of the rush to actually GET somewhere BEFORE noon the mom or dad forgets to feed themselves. Don't forget, the snack that fares well with the kids is never something that will do for your ravenous hunger after 4 cups of coffee and 4 hours of chaos. Did we go anywhere today? You guess. Its noon.

Brownies
During the 25 minutes or so it takes to cook a batch of brownies how many times can 2 little kids ages 5 and 3 ask you if they are ready yet? WELL, let me answer that because this time I counted: 15 ARG
HOW many does it feel like I was asked 500

Grown Up Dreams
Do you have any dreams from childhood that you kept with you that are feasible to achieve in your adult life? Do you STILL want to achieve them? I do. I think we all do. How do we get there? Break them down into tiny steps my mind tells me...
DREAM
go back to school
STEP 1
find school
STEP 2
enroll in inexpensive class during kids school hours
STEP 3
keep going
It seems too daunting. Too far to reach, something for only the young. Soooo many classes to finish before a degree.
DREAM 2
open small business/gift shop
STEP 1
develop business plan
STEP 2
look for investors
STEP 3
begin
I am unsure how to write a small business plan. I have been looking online but I really need to speak with someone who has a small business and ask to see theirs. Will they share or is that not reasonable? hmmmmmmm....

Merging Part II
When I am merging (see Merging) off an exit or onto the freeway how dare certain people (who I assume feel their time is more important than mine) will get in the buffer lane or pull over lane NOT A REAL DRIVING LANE I might add, and pass every one else who is patiently waiting in line?
I know you have all done it once or twice when you are in a great hurry BUT do you see that when hundreds of us are out there and 10 or 15 of each are "today in a big hurry and need to do it" it is just plain wrong. I hope you get into accidents secretly when you pass me. HA! there you go, there is the truth! NO driving Karma for you I want blood.

Merging
Merging the definition is: to combine, blend, or unite gradually no where in that definition (or ANY other for that matter) do I see the word STOP.... so why is it people insist on stopping when they are supposed to merge onto the freeway? I mean, COME ON, you are joining up with traffic going 65 mph can we please NOT SLOW DOWN it is dangerous to do so. BLEND PEOPLE< BLEND you know who you are....

ok I admit it...
I willingly will watch i-Carly, Hanna Montana and Wizards of Waverly Place. I have 4 girls come on.
Birthday
Is it wrong to nag your husband on his birthday? I feel pretty guilty for it. So, in the morning I have been taking the teenager to school at 6:45am and letting my husband sleep in (don't think I am nice he worked until 2am) and I get back about 7:20 and we get the other 3 up for school. We both are downstairs getting them food and I start what my husband and I both dread THE LUNCH MAKING DUTY. Now, mind you, I only take on this duty because watching him do it and the time he takes to do it is PAINFUL...So, in return for lunch duty he is to GET THE GIRLS dressed, teeth brushed this requires mostly coaxing, fairly easy...YET every morning he insists on getting online with ESPN and FOOPETS and ignoring HIS part of the morning duties until its 10 minutes 'til we have to leave and I am forced to step in thus leading me to the nag this morning on his birthday. Did he deserve it YES should I have held off for just today YES. where are we now?

Husbands Watch
Why is it when I watch our daughters they are all over me for food and drinks and play games and in my face and follow me to the bathroom and don't leave me alone for one minute HOWEVER when my husband watches them he is able to watch TV or be on the computer and its like he is not even there? THEY PLAY AMONGST THEMSELVES!?! They actually go upstairs and play nicely and hardly bother him at all? Does he put a spell on them? Does he drug them? Do they know men don't answer you anyway by instinct therefor just don't bother asking him for anything lol
2X Ultra Laundry Detergent
is it me or do you use more than you are supposed to? When I buy the ULTRA detergent that says you can only use a tiny bit and therefore get 100 loads outa one small bottle HA! Well, for me its not worth it because I NEVER feel like thats enough stuff to clean OUR clothes so I throw a bit more in and viola I use the same amount as the watered down stuff but paid for a stronger version....arg HOW can that tiny amount clean a whole load of girls messy clothes?
Rain
I love the rain, I mean I am from Pennsylvania and I KNOW rain...I have lived in California since 1988, yes 21 years and in that time I unlearned how to BE in the rain. I have passed this unfortunate defect onto my children. I see no point in buying rain boots for tiny feet that will wear them only one season and as it turns out I will throw them away out of lack of space and frustration before they can be passed down. so 4 sets of rain boots = $0, 4 rain coats = $0 wet cranky kids 16 times in one season every year = priceless
What gives you that aha moment when you feel complete peacefulness and rightness? For me its when I am driving, its warm and sunny, my car window is down, music is blasting and I see a ray of sun shining down through the clouds! THEN I know there is more than me... all is well with the world... all is as it should be. Its fleeting but delicious!
January 19th, 2010
Today I packed lunches while hubby gets kids ready for school...I drove 4 kids to 3 schools...worked out for 20 minutes... did 2 loads laundry... cleaned kitchen and THEN volunteered at the middle kids school. When I arrived my 5 yr. old was angry she had eaten her snack at snack time and wanted to be sure I knew that she didn't like the rest of her lunch and she wasn't going to eat it. Those were her first words to me into the classroom. Makes me wonder WHY I continue to go and help. Last week she made a picture of herself dead and gave it to the teacher and told her thats how she feels when I leave after volunteering? Am I helping or hurting? Hard to tell, too early to know. The rain forced me to bring the girls home at 1pm instead of 3:30. This is GREAT news for them BAD news for me. my FB and Blog time will certainly be cut short and their bedrooms messed up quickly and there will be snacks to be made and crayons to pick up....would I have it any other way NO, I love having them around... right now I made top ramen, and i watched the 9 yr old and 5 yr old play Super Smash Bros Melee on Game Cube!
