I waited an hour. Need I say more? Now I begin, my teenager is in school during the day. The babies at the pediatricians office are not in school and have NO class to return to. Yes, the mom may have a pedicure she desperately feels she needs or an appointment to have her eye brows sugared that she cannot miss (and by looking at her I might agree). BUT I booked this check up a week ago, and YES I do take into consideration a great deal of the ped's business is taking the daily sick calls and working those sick kids in I understand that kind of necessary juggling of schedules BUT AN HOUR?
So when the Doctor arrives isn't it my right to ask politely to discuss the late issue before we move forward into the check up? HELL YES IT IS. Do I? YES I DO. I say to the lovely Doctor "I am very upset at having to wait an hour is this a front office issue, a scheduling issue or was there some sort of emergency?" The kind Doctor replies "oh no its just the front office said you were 15 minutes late so I took an appointment that was here 15 minutes early in front of you".
Mind you we were 6 minutes late HOWEVER the bitch in front of me with the baby in for a well check up and caterpillar eye brows signed in one space above me so they office staff took her back first! She was there at 9:45 for a 10am appointment. I was there at 9:46 for my 9:40 appointment. I accepted the doctors apology.
I then on my way out ensured that the office was CLEAR on how to CHECK the check in time against the persona actual appointment time BEFORE taking them back in the future.
